Parenthood can be filled with so many emotionsโ€”joy, uncertainty, excitement, and sometimes overwhelm. No matter where you find yourself on this journey, Iโ€™m here to walk alongside you. Whether you're looking for perinatal mental health support, movement through yoga, guidance during birth, sleep strategies for you and your baby, or simply a safe space to explore it all, Iโ€™m here to help you find what feels best for you and your family.

You donโ€™t need to have everything figured out to start this journey, and thatโ€™s exactly why this space existsโ€”to support you in finding clarity, comfort, and empowerment. If you arenโ€™t sure what you need yet, letโ€™s connect and explore it together. My focus is on meeting you where you are, offering support tailored to your unique needs.

Sarah Kearns

Hi, Iโ€™m Sarah!

Iโ€™m so glad youโ€™re here. My yoga journey began in 2003 when I first stepped onto the mat and found a sense of home. Yoga offered a balance of mindful movement and breathing that I hadnโ€™t found in competitive sports. Surrounded by a healing, non-competitive energy, I discovered my lifeโ€™s passion. In 2010, I completed my 200-hour training with Natasha Rizopoulos at YogaWorks, and since then, my classes have focused on alignment and grounding, guiding students to connect with their bodies and their breath.

In 2013, I deepened my practice with a 300-hour Yoga Therapy training at the Yoga Life Institute. This experience shaped much of my teaching, emphasizing that everything we need is already within us. Working one-on-one with Yoga Therapy clients eventually led to my doula practice. After supporting a client through anxiety and fertility challenges, I was honored to attend her birth. This experience inspired me to pursue my doula certification through DONA International.

Breathe to Empower has evolved over the years, and its current iteration, Embodied Perinatal Practice, is a reflection of all the ways I hope to support parents. Whether you're navigating mental health, physical support, fertility challenges, or loss, I am here for you. As a mother of three living children and three angel babies, I bring empathy, wisdom, and love to the work I do.

Wherever you are on your journey, I am here to hold space for you.

My Values

Open-mindedness is about embracing the fact that everyone's journey is unique. We all have different capacities for holding challenges, and there's no "right" way to navigate them. Whether you're facing something big or small, your experience is valid, and you are welcome here exactly as you are. Thereโ€™s no need to compare your struggles to others or feel like they arenโ€™t significant enough. Every challenge, no matter the size, deserves space and attention. My goal is to create a supportive environment where you feel seen and understood, without judgment. By meeting you where you are and honoring your individual edge, we can work together to find a path forward that feels right for you

Reliability is a core value in my work, and I take great pride in being a consistent source of support. I understand how important it is for you to feel secure and confident in those who walk with you on your journey, and I take that responsibility very seriously. If we are working together, you can trust that I will always show up when I say I will. In the rare event that something changes, I promise to give you plenty of notice. If I ever feel that I am not the right person to support you, I will be honest and transparent about it. Your well-being is my priority, and I am committed to being there for you every step of the way.

Authenticity is at the heart of everything I do. I will always show up as my most honest and genuine self with you, no matter the situation, because I believe in the power of real connection. In this space, there is no need for pretense or perfectionโ€”you are invited to be exactly who you are, with all your emotions, challenges, and triumphs. I hope that by leading with authenticity, you feel empowered to do the same. Together, we can build trust and create an environment where you feel safe and supported in your journey. When we show up as our true selves, we open the door to deeper healing, growth, and connection.

  • "Sarah supported me and my husband through two births--including one in a pandemic. Sarah was compassionate, wise, empowering, and a fantastic advocate for us. Sarah is a kickass doula, the kind of birth-bestie who will tell it to you straight, and be there for you with nothing other than love and care when the going gets... going."

    Ann S.

  • โ€œI took prenatal yoga with Sarah, from 5 weeks of pregnancy and only missing a few weeks my whole pregnancy. I KNOW that the class and Sarahโ€™s guidance in particular made this birth possible. It hurt like hell and I think Iโ€™m done with childbirth, but Iโ€™m really proud and happy I never gave up on myself! Thank you for your support and authenticity and joy!โ€
